John Paul Caponigro
Environmental Artist - Photographer, USA
John Paul Caponigro combines his background in painting with traditional and alternative photographic processes using the latest digital technology. He is respected internationally as one of the most prominent artists working with digital media. Widely exhibited, his work has been purchased by numerous private and public collections including Princeton University, the Estée Lauder Collection, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Caponigro’s primary focus is the natural world. The wastelands he photographs are breathtakingly beautiful, yet the conspicuous absences found within them add an unusual complexity and social relevance when considering issues surrounding the environment, the medium of photography, its changing nature and practices, and their mutual interaction.
An authority on creativity, digital imaging, and digital printing John Paul teaches internationally at prominent workshops and in his private studio. He lectures frequently at universities, museums, and conferences. John Paul’s work has been published widely. Reviews have appeared in numerous periodicals and books including Art News and The Ansel Adams Guide.
