For the Birds! Nature Photography with Maxis Gamez

While many have become comfortable with the basic image edits available in Adobe® Lightroom® 3, some of the more powerful image editing capabilities remain a mystery. In this free webinar sponsored by X-Rite, Joe will explore both basic and advanced image editing techniques in a software every photographer should have.

Before we start editing though, there are two things that need to be taken care of. The first is understanding Lightroom's Library Module and deciding how and where to organize your images, and the second part is making sure your monitor is calibrated to show you the most accurate color so that your prints will match what you see on screen as closely as possible.

Once these important steps are completed, Joe will share his favorite editing tips including retouching, creating masks for local adjustments, using the gradient tool, cropping for composition and other fine details to best prepare a file for printing.

Here are some topics Joe will cover:

  • Why monitor color is important for Lightroom 3
(and what might we expect in LR 4?)
  • Image edits and batch processing including:
  • Global image edits
  • Local color and light adjustments
  • Retouching both skin and landscape "blemishes"
  • Composition
  • Image sharpening options
  • Preparing files for lab printing
