+Unsatisfactory results with my printer profileIf after creating a custom printer profile you are unsatisfied with the results, please review the troubleshooting steps below.
- Review your printer testcharts. Do you see any banding, spotting, colors dropping, or otherwise unacceptable printing results? Does your testchart fit completely within your print area?
- Do the colors on your testchart match the colors you see on your display? If not, you may want to examine your workflow to confirm that you are not applying color managment when printing.
- Re-measure your testcharts to confirm that no patches were missed. In i1Match, ProfileMaker and MonacoPROFILER take advantage of the ability to compare the measured and expected patches to confirm that your measurements were correct.
- Does your soft proof match your printed output? If so, review the steps above to ensure that your profile was created correctly. If not, review your application and printer driver settings to confirm that you are applying your custom profile in the application while disabiling it in the printer driver.
If after completing these steps you still find that your results are not as you expected, you may choose to send printed samples in for our review. To do so, please first create a web case under your My X-Rite account. Be sure to describe the problem you are seeing in as much detail as possible and to include your operating system and printer model. Email your printer profile to our applications team. Then, mail your printed testchart(s) and a sample print of this file to the following address. Please be sure to reference your case number on your package.
