-Room Light Settings and the huey

The huey is designed to block most room light during measurement, except very bright light, such as direct sunlight, striking the display.

Display Calibrator is designed to adjust your monitor for ambient lighting. When calibrating, you should set the light level as you normally would when viewing your monitor.

For viewing photos on-screen, we recommend that room lights be of balanced color temperature and dim enough to view the monitor comfortably. The graphic arts viewing standard specifies 5000 K lighting, which is equivalent to noon daylight. Incandescent light bulbs, warm white fluorescent lamps, and cool white fluorescent lighting are not evenly balanced and may make prints look different than they do on-screen.
