Q: I recently purchased a Hutchcolor transparency target. I have scanned it with several different gamma and bit-depth settings. When I attempt to generate a profile however, I encounter an error. The message that states that there is a problem with the scan image. It wants to see a gray scale across the bottom. My scan contains the full  target. The problem is that the Hutchcolor transparency does not have a grayscale across the bottom.

A: Newer HCT targets have been modified by the manufacturer.  Changes in these films produce an error in MonacoPROFILER. There is a workaround but it is platform specific.
