When did you first understand the importance of color to the photographic process?
Since I started studying digital photography in 1990.
What is the most important aspect of color management that an aspiring photographer should know?
Understand that for an accurate reproduction of colors, we must maintain proper communication between the devices involved in the process (object to be photographed, lighting, camera, monitor, test system, printer, laboratory, etc.)
Give an example of the ways in which a solid knowledge of color management (or an accurate color environment) helped you – on a project? In a consultancy situation?
Commissioned by the nature photographer and contributor to National Geographic Andoni Canela, was a conversion from RGB to CMYK and perform some tests of color, to ensure success in the printing of his book "A dream trip". Without a knowledge of solid color, this would not have been possible.
Playing pictures. For a correct reproduction must take care to detail lighting, generating a color profile for the camera and have properly calibrated (and shaped) monitor output and our environment.

For the quality of their devices and software.
How important are the latest color management tools in today’s industry? Why?
It seems essential to obtain quality results.
Why?
Without tools to manage color the results would be unpredictable. And if we want to emphasize that our customers repeat their experience with us, we have no choice but to deliver quality.
What does the (near) future hold for the photo industry, in your opinion? Do you think color management will be more or less important – why?
Cameras easier to use overall and better quality. Given a choice, most standardized quality. I think we can select the concept of photography we want to obtain and the camera make appropriate adjustments.
Monitors higher quality and with easy and detailed to calibrate and profile information.
Printers with color management easier to understand for a layman from the print driver itself.
Do you think color management will be more or less important?
More.
Why?
As for fine and automatic, quality settings, we have precise control of color.
How is color management related to your artistic process?
Both the artistic side and the more commercial, it is essential from a correct color management, as although not want to represent reality, we always want to know the level of an effect or correction applied.
Do you see color management as an advantage for saving money?
Without a doubt. Customers who I have not work well in relation to the management of color, should do tests and more tests and lose a lot of time by not knowing where they come from, nor where they go.
