-Using MonacoEZcolor with a Canon S9000 PrinterQ: I just purchased MonacoEZcolor and have been having trouble matching print to monitor. I am using a PowerMac G5 with a 20 inch Apple Cinema Display and printing to a Canon S9000 printer. I have been using the CMYK target. I understand that Epson printers that are CMYK actually use the RGB calibration. My printer uses CMYK ink but I don't know if the driver is RGB or CMYK. I also don't know if the printer is Postscript. How do I find out? There is no information in the user manual or on the web for Canon.
A: If you are using the supplied Canon drivers with your printer, you will need to profile it as an RGB device. This is because the MacOS communicates with the Canon driver in RGB. If you are using a PostScript interpreter or a RIP, you may need to use the CMYK target.
