-MonacoOPTIX (round) Colorimeter does not CommunicateQ: I have MonacoEZcolor v2.5 for Mac. I'm running OS 9.2. When I attach my Chroma4 color sensor my software doesn't recognize it. What am I doing wrong?
A: If your Mac has factory built-in USB support and you are connecting the device directly to a port on the computer and not a hub, you may have an System Extension problem or a failing device. Ensure all your Apple USB extensions are loaded properly as well as "USB Calibration", which is the driver for the MonacoOPTIX. If there is a "SequelGammaPlusUSB" extension present, disable it. This is an older driver for the MonacoSENSOR that sometimes conflicts with the MonacoOPTIX driver. The device does require a fair amount of power, and many hubs (even the Apple Keyboard) don't provide enough power, so make sure it is directly connected to the computer.
