-Color Curves Cannot be Loaded by Windows

Q: I'm building a monitor profile with MonacoOPTIXXR. I have a 2-year old Dell CRT. Dell P1130.icm loaded. Win XP. All monitor settings reset to factory defaults. After calibrating and proceeding through the 35-step patch test I receive an error message at step 33: "The color curves for this display can't be loaded by windows...". Any suggestions?

A: You are getting this message because newer versions of Windows prevent the OPTIX software from loading dramatic correction curves to the video card. This is generally not a problem as most monitors should not require such large corrections. This message usually occurs when a white point far from the display's native state is used, i.e., through the ambient light measurement option. If you were doing this, try using one of the defaults. 6500K is appropriate for the majority of users.
