-Building a Scanner Profile - Disable the Color Controls
Q: I understand that when building a scanner profile, you are instructed to turn OFF all color correction options in the software. You ARE allowed to change resolution, size, sharpening, bit-depth (8-bit/16-bit) etc. My scanner has "Digital ICE" technology to correct damage, spots etc - can this type of technology be ACTIVE when using a scanner profile created in MonacoEZcolor?
A: The goal is to avoid any change to the device's color response. As to bit-depth, consider creating a profile for each. There is no technical information on file for the "Digital ICE" system. If it does not change the color values of the image, it should be fine. Again, consider performing a scan both with and without this feature enabled and compare the profiles for accuracy.
